With more evangelistic Bible lessons being checked for accuracy by missionary Bill Housley and his Inapang language co-workers in Papua New Guinea, the people talk about little else as they sit around their fires at night.
Hearing fragments of the lessons has generated many questions. Some hunters are afraid to go to the bush because they fear dying and not hearing the Truth the missionaries came to tell them. Others are concerned when their family members become ill as they fear they will die without hearing.
And many are asking questions:
I'm so tired of being sick. Is it true that when we hear God's talk that if we die, we can go to where He is?
Is it truth when we make eating big foods a taboo for our young men?
Is God a man or a spirit?
Is God an old man like Aguarankar (the oldest man in the village who has lots of ritual wisdom)
Does He just sit in one place all the time eating tinned fish?
I heard about some water that gives life … Is that true?
We are full up of wrong. I just don't know if God is big enough to straighten us out.
Pray that God will prepare the hearts of the Inapang people to respond to Jesus when they hear evangelistic teaching. Pray for Bill Housley as he prepares the lessons in order to teach the Gospel message to the Inapang people.
