How is Christine ? Well it depends on your perspective. She would tell you that God’s promise to her is that, “His ways are perfect”. Does this bring comfort ? Yes it does if you have followed God and come to an absolute understanding that His ways are infinitely better than our own. Yes there are times we are afraid but mostly we are resting in God’s Sovereign hands. Does this mean we are doing nothing at all. No, on the contrary we are doing all we can.
Kicked when your down.
This last month has been a real roller coaster. After chemotherapy, the blood work indicated that the cancer was in full retreat and seemed like we were clear of cancer which meant we would go on to radiation therapy. In order to check if the cancer is gone a lumpectomy is necessary to reveal through labwork weather all is clear. Well, during this time Christine was having abdomen pains. They became so painful that she needed to go into emergency. They said it was a urinary tract infection. So that is how we treated it. Then after the lumpectomy as she was still recovering from surgery and anesthetic sickness she began to have this pain again. She went into emergency again to find out she had a kidney stone. To top it off we also were packing to move into our new place.
A matter of Trust.....
Then after all that, a week later we got kicked again. We found out that there is still residual cancer left. This means that we can’t go on to radiation therapy. The cancer needs to be completely clear before we can proceed. So what now. Well, we once again fall on the Sovereignty of God. Currently, Christine is still weak from Chemotherapy so we decided that we would try a more biological friendly approach. We are having Christine take a different type of chemo, high dose vitamin C given intravenously. Yes Vitamin C. Apparently, it acts just like a chemo drug attacking the cancer but unlike cancer it does not harm the body.
