We came to Indonesia in 1975 and moved interior in 1976. For a number of years we lived in small bark and thatch houses much like the Punan people we lived with. Our children were home schooled the first two years then went out to our mission school in second grade. They had lots of fun playing with the village children when they were home. We lived on the bank of a river so the kids were in and out of the river all day.
In the 1990's all three of our children graduated from high school here in Indonesia and went home to the US for further studies. Our oldest daughter, Becky, works as a nurse, is married and has one daughter, Sarah. Rachel taught high school English for 8 years then has just returned from finishing NTM training to join our team and do the Punan translation. DJ, our youngest is a computer tech, married Jennifer and has twin girls, Areli and Galilee. DJ's family also have returned to minister here in Indonesia. |
