God is worthy to be praised by the Konyagui people of Guinea and Senegal, and Chantal Pilon and Jody Abram hope to give them that opportunity.
"Jody and I have the desire to give these people the opportunity to hear God's Truth," Chantal wrote. "This means that we will live among them to build relationships and to learn their culture and language so that the Word of God can be clearly taught to them."
The missionaries plan to return to Guinea in May and soon move to a town that is near the 50 small, scattered villages that are home to Guinea's 13,000 Konyagui people. They would like to make that move in June, "before the rainy season is too far advanced."
However, the women know that is a rather optimistic timetable. They and co-workers still must get a rental property in the town into livable shape. They are also hoping the vehicle that is on its way to Guinea by boat will be quickly released from customs, and without heavy taxes.
Once they are settled in the town, they will begin to build relationships and to study, and will also try to decide if another move is in order.
"We will need to do further survey work to determine the best location for our team to settle on a more permanent basis," Chantal wrote.
Pray that Chantal and Jody can make the move to the town before rainy season sets in and roads become difficult if not impassable. Pray that even in the time leading up to that move, their lives will be a testimony of Christ to everyone they encounter. And pray that God will hasten the day when the Konyagui people of Guinea and Senegal can praise His name.
