LOOKING FOR THE 'HAPPILY EVER AFTER'

Aaron and his teammates are learning how to communicate clearly to the Patpatar people.

March 4, 2008

by Debbie Burgett

Just like people everywhere, the Patpatar people of Papua New Guinea want to live "happily ever after." But they can never have the end of the story without first understanding the beginning.

Missionaries Aaron and Lori Luse are getting ready to provide the "Once upon a time."

"As we prepare to teach the Patpatar people, we are going to start 'In the beginning,' wrote Aaron and Lori.

"In a tribe where traditional and animistic beliefs are strong and only partial truths about God and the Bible are known, it is important to lay good foundations of the truth of God's Word," they wrote. "How much we want them to clearly understand the saving Gospel and why they need a Savior."

And that is what will make "happily ever after" possible for the Patpatar people.

"Please pray for Aaron and Butch [Kunzer] as they write lessons and prepare the materials and Scriptures to teach the Patpatar people the whole story," the Luses wrote. "Pray also for those Patpatar helpers who are hearing the lessons and helping us communicate the truths clearly."
