Siawi believers in Papua New Guinea are showing interest in and dedication to a discipleship program.
Imen, one of the believers, said, "My thinking is like this. Some of us understand and some don't. We are in need of strengthening. How should we do this work? If I teach like this, will everybody laugh? We are afraid of leaving the trail and running into the weeds. Here teaching our families or other places, it's not good if we don't teach correctly."
"I have another thought," he continued. "How do we write so we can teach? What is the meat? My thinking is short when I look at God's Word. I want to teach what is true and not run off into the weeds."
Someliae, another believer, shared that they don't help one another -- that they hear the teachings but don't follow through.
A third believer, Okwep, explained that they wanted to have influence in each other's lives and to be influenced by the missionaries' lives.
Please pray for the believers as the discipleship teachings progress, that they would learn and be strengthened.
