After a month out of the tribe because of unrest in the village, missionaries Keith Copley and Jonathan Kopf returned to find a more peaceful situation. Outside groups that were escalating violence among the Hewas have left the area.
Both families are now back in the village producing more teaching materials.
"Right now Keith continues to put the lessons we have already taught into a final draft to give to our teachers for the future," the Copleys wrote.
The team is also developing 20 lessons on Acts and the early church, which will include teaching about baptism and communion, and wants to produce a series on Romans.
Upon their return, the team was pleased to hear several Hewas give a similar testimony:
"We don't know what the coming days will bring but God has a plan. If you are here, then we will learn from you, but even when you are gone we can continue to learn because we have God's Spirit living in us and we have His Word to read. He will teach us when you are not here."
"Thank God that He has made this clear to the Hewa people," the Copleys wrote.
Pray that village life will remain calm, allowing the Copleys and Kopfs to accomplish their goals, and to teach the believers more of God's Word.
