IS SAVANNAH HURTING NOW?

Savannah is already back on her feet.

Savannah is already back on her feet.

August 8, 2007

by David Abbott

The "plates" Savannah has in her legs are only the size of a paper-clip and only go across the growth plate below her knees. It allows her bone to grow on one side so that it will straighten itself as she grows. It is not suppose to be painful - any more than growing.

Her hips and ankles are very noticeably affected by the disease as well. And all those things together with her legs cause her back to be arched in order to stand up straight. So she is likely to have a fair amount of pain - but not from the plates themselves.

Dealing with all these issues will mean multiple surgeries until Savannah has finished growing. ...But the Lord has really helped her - with no complications and a quick recovery.

She is already starting to walk around without holding on to things. - Amazing!
