SAVANNAH IS HAVING SURGERY TODAY

Savannah having her heart and lungs checked by a nurse practitioner

Savannah having her heart and lungs checked by a nurse practitioner

August 2, 2007

by David Abbott

Savannah is having surgery today for an inherited bone disease.  Her most noticeable symptom is very bowed legs. The goal of this surgery will be to inhibit the growth on one side of her leg's growth plates so that the other side can catch up.

While David has had three different surgeries, it is a brand new experience to have one of our children go through the experience.

The surgery is expected to start between 8 and 9 AM in the morning and last up to two hours.  Savannah will need to remain in the hospital overnight.

  • Please pray that this surgery will be successful in correcting Savannah's bowed legs and that there will be no complications during or after the procedure.
  • Please pray that Savannah will feel secure throughout the procedure and recover quickly.
  • Please pray for wisdom and endurance for helping Savannah through the recovery process when she will be in pain and have limited mobility.
