Missionaries have the tendency to mostly talk about themselves - ourselves included.
A recent missionary update David reviewed revealed a 97% self-focus. In fact every paragraph started with the word "we" except for one.
Did you know that there is an online tool to help evaluate web content focus? David discovered it through one of the newsletters he subscribes to for sharpening his skills as a content manager.
This tool for evaluating writing focus is one of the things David shared with a couple hundred NTM missionaries this past week during a "refresher course" at the Missionary Training Center in Missouri.
As you partner with us, you are providing the same "myMinistry" web site connectivity you experience for thousands of other ministry partners around the world.
There are now nearly 300 websites David's team provides just like this one. And each site has hundreds to thousands of unique visitors each who are also taking part in planting tribal churches just like you.
This is one recent example of the impact myMinistry websites are making. A single NTM missionary woman in Africa just received this note from a girl who decided to become a donor through her myMinistry website:
"hi [missionary],
you're not losing your memory, I've never met you. I read a book about a missionary with NTM, Gracia Burnham, so I looked on the website because I want to someday be a missionary.
I'm just graduating from high school, then going to university and majoring in Religious Studies, so God willing I want to be in Africa in 6 years.
I was looking at people's websites that were in Africa and I found yours. Your life seems so much like how I want to be in a couple of years, (I want to be a tribal church planter in Africa too) and I knew I'd appreciate money when I'm in that situation so I thought I'd help you out.
Thanks for sending me a letter!"
