Our foster baby is in the process of getting braces for her legs. They are measuring and fitting the various parts in stages. She was so excited about "getting new shoes" yesterday when Kristia brought her to the doctor.
Then when she tried on the "shoes" they were more like boots and are kinda formless. In fact there isn't even a right and a left. They lock her ankles so she can't move them. When she tried to walk in them it was really hard. Kristia said her face flushed and she put her hands over her face.
It just about makes you cry just thinking about it. And that is just the shoes that go with the braces. Just wait unto she has cuffs around her thighs and her knees won't bend either. It is going to be so embarrassing and frustrating for her.
The complete braces are suppose to arrive in two weeks. Please pray for our foster baby as we help her adjust to this incredible challenge.
