I’ve had a pretty busy Summer, and am thankful to the Lord for His watch-care over me. ~ In May I spoke at my church’s missions conference, then shared with a group of VBS kids. ~ In June I went down to MO to pick up most of what I had in storage there. It was a huge encouragement to spend time with old friends, and I enjoyed the mutual fellowship tremendously! ~ The end of June began my journey out to the West Coast. It took 4 days of driving to get to CA, and by God’s grace I was able to make the trip without getting too worn out. That is a miracle, for someone with fibromyalgia, so praise the Lord with me for His goodness! :-) ~ While in CA, I had the privilege of renewing ties with a couple girls (ladies, now {-:) who I grew up with in Indonesia. Sweet fellowship with kindred spirits!! ~ Mid-July I headed up the CA and OR coastline, and spent a few days with friends in OR. ~ From OR, I headed to ID, stopping in to see the Morrisons, who I also knew from Indonesia. ~ I spent a week in ID, next to the Snake River. Was able to get rested up, though I spent a lot of time on the road while there, with several trips to Twin Falls and a trip to Sun Valley. ~ The last week of July I spent with my good friends in WY. Life is always an adventure at their house, and while there I climbed to the top of Pilot Butte! Another miracle for someone with fibromyalgia! :-) Must be the dry air out there. It was a privilege to be part of their daughter’s wedding, as well. ~ On the last leg of my trip I came home by way of Mount Rushmore. Was able to be there for the evening ceremony, where they give the history behind why those 4 men were chosen for the monument, and then the monument is lit up, after dark. It was very moving, and made me thankful, once again, for the heritage I have as an American. After 5811 miles on the road, I made it safely home to MN. ~ As soon as I got home, I headed off to WI with my sister’s family, for a week of Bible Camp, the beginning of this month. A week after camp I spoke at another area church.
My visa paperwork is in process right now. Once the visa is granted, and then stamped into my passport (which means a trip to the Indonesian consulate in Chicago), I will then have 3 months to arrive in Indonesia. My target date for leaving is somewhere around November 20th, though the exact day is still to be determined. In order for me to be able to effectively live and minister when I get there, I am trusting the Lord to continue raising my support level, which is currently around 27% of the recommended amount. With today’s economy, I know that times are tight right now for most everyone, and I am so grateful to each one of you who so faithfully give towards seeing me be able to go. THANK-YOU!
It’s taking me awhile to really feel rested again, after all my travels. Lord willing, I need to head down to MO one more time, hopefully the middle of September, to pick up the last of my storage items. Please pray with me, too, for a good storage solution, here in MN, for all of my “schtuff”.
Romans 15:13 “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (NKJV)
