"Meanwhile praying also for us (me), that God would open to us (me) a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains,"
Earlier this month, I took a trip down to MO to see friends and to take care of the things I left in storage when I moved from there in December. It was really good to go back to my old stomping grounds ~ a bit surreal to drive onto the school property and my first reaction was to stop and pick up my mail before driving on to "my" house. Then reality hit, as I remembered I didn't live there anymore! It just felt so natural to be there. During my week there, we experienced several rain storms, and tornado warnings, one of them in the middle of the night when the siren went off and we had to run to the neighbor's basement. Welcome back to Missouri! :-) Thankfully, no damage was done in that area.
One happy "accident" was being able to sit in on some in-house meetings that were going on, while I was there. It was refreshing to be back in that setting, fellowshipping with people of like heart and mind, and gleaning new information for what I am doing.
Thank-you, all of you who had me in your homes for meals, etc. It was great to see you all again.
Last Saturday I attended a block party, meeting lots of new people. I realized, after talking to one person, that I had missed an opportunity that was right in front of me, to share the work of NTM with them. Pray for me, that I would recognize those opportunities, when God puts them right in front of me like that, and that I would have boldness to share what I am doing! This is God's work, and I want to be faithful to represent Him, as His "fellow worker" (1 Cor 3:9).
This week is VBS at church. I have the opportunity to talk to the kids acouple times, to tell them who I am and what I will be doing.
In a week (June 29) I will be heading out to the West Coast. I'm dreading the long drive, but am very much looking forward to seeing old friends, and making new ones. I've got a meeting (or 2) in CA, and a possible meeting in ID, as well as visiting with other supporters/friends.
Thank-you for upholding me, and this trip, in prayer! I'll let you know, after the fact, how many miles I travel between here and there and back again. :-) I'm trusting in God's unchanging faithfulness, and look forward to what He has in store over the miles. Thank-you, for giving financially, to make this possible, too!
