Bible lessons are a family matter at the Horeb training center in Bolivia.
Missionaries Bruce and Jan Johnson are helping to host 60 Chimane believers for a three-day Bible course this week at the training center. The group includes several families and 20 women. As the influence of Christianity grows among the Chimanes, women and families are being included in the Bible conferences. The Chimanes are fearful of going to other villages, but feel safe and accepted at the training center.
The Horeb Bible Radio station, broadcasting Bible lessons to the Chimane, is one of Bruce's main ministries. He is the technician and helped to install the new radio tower earlier this year. The station broadcasts 16 hours each day. There is enough diesel fuel to keep the motors going for awhile. Pray that the fuel supply increases so that the Gospel message can continue to be broadcast.
Bruce and Jan help in any way they can, from hosting Chimane believers to working on the diesel engines. Their 21-year-old daughter, Kara, is busy with 17 young people who come three times a week. They come for fun and games and a Bible lesson. Kara is being helped with the translation but does most of the teaching herself. The kids are eager to learn new things.
The family is working together to bring the Gospel to the Chimane.
