Missionaries working among the Tanda people in Guinea recently met together to assess the work that still needs to be accomplished.
As a group, they decided that Rodger and Jen Enters and Ron and Heather Yearwood will focus on discipling Tanda believers, teaching literacy and translating the Scriptures into the Tanda language.
Ives and Cheryl Girard, who have come to help the missionaries for several months, will focus on establishing a medical clinic.
When a team from Northern Ireland arrived to build a second bridge for the Tanda people, the missionaries once again refocused their energies to help with the two-week project. The first bridge was built in 2006 and made it possible to travel between villages and to cities year round.
During the second bridge building project, the team experienced a series of near crippling equipment failures. The mini dump truck blew an engine on the first day and is still not repaired. When a drive motor on the backhoe failed, the skilled equipment operator was able to use the bucket as a crutch and "limp" to wherever he needed to work. Due to the resourcefulness and determination of the team the bridge was successfully finished.
Pray for the Enters and Yearwood families as they continue to disciple Tanda believers and translate Scriptures. Praise God for the successful completion of a second bridge and the establishment of a medical clinic needed to help the Tanda people.
