A Kuman couple have asked NTM missionaries to tell them when Bible teaching begins, because they plan to hike an hour and a half each way in order to attend.
In two weeks, missionaries expect to begin teaching the first evangelistic Bible lessons to the Kuman tribe of Papua New Guinea.
"We were very encouraged yesterday to meet a couple from another village ... who are very interested in hearing the teaching," wrote missionary Ken White. "It is neat to see God put a desire for His word in peoples' hearts, and we hope that their desire will be a good example to people in our village that this message is really worth listening to."
Missionaries are still trying to work out where they will teach, starting near the end of this month. A few people have offered the use of their homes, and the missionaries are talking with the three Kuman believers about this.
The translation of Genesis into the Kuman language -- vital to beginning lessons -- has been checked and revisions have been made, but it still needs one final review before it can be printed and distributed. Missionaries expect to complete the check this week.
Pray for God's direction on where to meet, and pray that God will open many hearts to His truth.
