A bridge built by Friends in Action missionaries has radically changed the lives of Roger and Jen Enters. Previously, during the three month rainy season and the impassable roads, they were unable to leave the Tanda village where they live. Because of the bridge, they can now travel to cities in the area all year round.
Another major change is in the supply ministry manned by Ev and Muffy Halstead. Roger relates that getting supplies used to be quite an undertaking.
The Enters would come out of the village every four weeks or so and make the four-hour trip to a larger village to buy supplies. Packing up and making the long trip took most of the first day. The next day the family would buy products that were available in the village.
The following day they would go to a port city to purchase products shipped in by a local mining company. Mike and Jen would spend another day away from their ministry with the Tandas to shop in yet another town for needed items.
On Sunday they would fellowship with their missionary co-workers, then pack their suitcases and stuff the kids and all the supplies they could into their car to return home.
Now, because of Ev and Muffy's supply ministry, and because of the new bridge, Jen can e-mail an order a week in advance, and Ev and Muffy pack it up and have it ready for Roger when he drives in, grabs the supplies and heads back on the same day.
