Missionary Rachel Searcy is ahead of her goal as she translates Scripture into the Punan language of Indonesia. She is striving to be ready for a translation check the first week of July.
Her biggest need is for Punan co-workers. She has been unable to find enough readers who are able to read their own language.
Most Punans are minimally literate in Indonesian and must work at reading Punan. Rachel is encouraged that when she reads scripture to them there seems to be good comprehension.
"We think that once she gets this first check with a consultant out of the way she will have the confidence she needs to just forge ahead as fast as she can get it done," wrote Rachel's parents, David and Teresa Searcy.
David is doing some content checking for the translation project.
Please pray that good progress will continue to be made in translating God's Word into Punan, and that more Punans will learn to read their language.
