A date is set for the Dinangat people to begin hearing God's Word in Papua New Guinea.
Missionaries Gary and Esther Smith and Jeremiah and April Markley already had a tentative date for teaching to begin, but they wanted to show proper respect for the Dinangat leaders, and asked their opinion. Jan. 28, 2008, has been set as the date evangelistic Bible teaching starts.
The Dinangats have heard teaching in other languages, but never clearly or in their own language. "Therefore they are a very confused people and actually God has used this to prepare their hearts. The Dinangat people are very hungry to clearly understand God's talk," wrote Gary.
Gary is currently working on writing the lessons. New Tribes recommends having 25 of the 70 lessons ready before teaching begins, and he currently has 14 complete. He is hoping to reach 40 before the end of January.
"Gary is doing a great job," Jeremiah wrote, "and it has already been toe-tingling to see his Dinangat helpers understanding Bible truths one at a time as he progresses through the chronological Bible lessons with them, checking for comprehension and language accuracy."
Please pray for the lesson writing to be accurate and progress steadily.
