As the first literacy class for the Dinangat people finishes at the end of this month in Papua New Guinea, missionaries press on to prepare for the start of evangelistic Bible teaching in January.
"It is exciting for us and yet it is also overwhelming to think of what is ahead of us these days," wrote Ralf and Elli Schlegel. "We know that God is the one who will bring these people to Himself as He wills, but we want to be faithful and good tools for Him to prepare the soil in the Dinangat's hearts for the Word of God."
The Schlegels have pushed back the date they will be going on home assignment so they can translate Romans 1-8 for the future Dinangat church.
Their co-worker, Gary Smith, is now working on lesson 11 of 70 that will present the message of salvation from Creation to the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.
Other members of the missionary team, Jeremiah and April Markley, are preparing for their next culture and language evaluation. Please pray for them that they will be encouraged and will soon be able to finish their official language study.
Pray too that the team will continue to experience unity as they face the challenges ahead of them in the coming months.
