"I really do enjoy my daily trips across the river," wrote missionary Rachel Searcy, "My next goal is to cross the river in my boat without getting my clothes wet."
Every day the Punan ladies ask Rachel how she got wet and every day it's for a different reason. Each different reason gives her some good language practice. Recently she learned the word for accidentally sinking into the mud.
The Punan ladies are teaching Bible lessons to the children each afternoon. Rachel goes over the lessons with them and then they practice teaching what they have learned. In the afternoon Rachel picks up the children on one side of the river and takes them to where the teachers and some other children are gathered on the other side.
As Rachel has helped transport the children they have become accustomed to her and are no longer afraid to talk with her. In fact, they even argue over who gets to pole the boat back up the creek to take her home.
Pray for Rachel as she ministers to the Punan women who are teaching the Bible. Pray also that the Punan believers will continue to grow in the Lord.
