Four men completed pilot and mechanic evaluations last week and have been accepted to train with NTM Aviation.
The men and their wives will join seven other couples and one single man who are currently scheduled to begin training in August 2006. The NTM Aviation staff plan to host one more evaluation session before then, so more candidates are expected to be added to the class.
The training is specifically designed to equip individuals in pilot and mechanic skills needed in remote tribal areas where pilots need to be able to diagnose and repair their plane's mechanical problems.
Receiving training in jungle aviation will add to the many years of preparation the men have already accumulated on their resumes.
Bryan graduated from aviation mechanic school in Tulsa, Okalahoma, and has been working on aircraft for three years since becoming a certified aircraft mechanic. He is also a pilot, but he prefers to maintain and repair mechanical things. His wife Melissa will graduate in May as a Registered Nurse.
Josh has several years experience as an aircraft mechanic and is also a pilot. He and his wife, Candy, are both children of pastors.
Ben and Travis also have several years experience as pilots and mechanics. Ben's wife, Cathy, has a degree to teach English as a second language.
Pray for these families as they work out the details for their move to McNeal.
