BABY UPDATE (August 8, 2008)
We just wanted to let you know how our appointment with the baby turning doctor went today. There were several criteria that had to be in place for us to be candidates for this treatment, and we fit them all. That is very good news and so we are moving ahead. It was a bit painful for Rachel but she is glad to be receiving treatments. The doctor said that the baby usually flips in 4-6 sessions, so we will let you know what goes on over the next few weeks. Thank you all for praying!
JUST LIKE PAPA (August 7, 2008)
We should have seen it coming. Caleb doesn't like to stay in one place for long and apparently his son doesn't either.
Just yesterday we found out that our baby has turned into the breech position. It is unusual for a baby to turn as late as 36 weeks after having already been in the right position.
Tomorrow we'll begin seeing a doctor that is trained in turning breech babies. A correctly turned baby means a safer and easier delivery for mom & baby and it also means that we likely wouldn't need a C-section. Please pray with us that he will turn, but whatever the outcome, we desire that this hurdle might only bring us closer to the Lord and that He might be glorified.
Thank you for your prayers! We'll keep you posted.
NOT JUST A STEPPING STONE (February 29, 2008)
As we make various preparations to go overseas, the temptation can be to think of, "when we start our ministry someday". However, we know the truth is that God wants to use us all here and now. Please pray that we might be faithful to serve Him today as well as tomorrow.
ON THE MOVE (February 29, 2008)
Caleb & I find ourselves moving yet again. It is hard to believe how many times we've moved in our 7 years of marriage! From all we've heard, this is excellent practice for the never ending change that defines missionary life. Even so, I in particular feel myself growing a little tired of the packing and unpacking cycle. Please pray that we find our roots in Him alone as change is a way of life.
