We didn't plan for this place to take so long to build, but thankfully it's close to being done. Caleb worked long hours to try and have the house at least mostly finished before baby came and we barely made it. The hot water arrived just a few days before baby Daniel did.
The big things that are still left: washer & dryer hookups and installation, reliable internet (right now it's super weak IF you are in one corner of one room) and fully unpacking our boxes. These things are taking a backseat to partnership development, so they'll get done when they get done. (Maybe before we leave for the Philippines!)
Yes, it has been a lot of work, but we are really grateful for this place to live. Since we are planning on going to the field soon, it makes no sense to buy or rent for such a short time. In exchange for all the labor Caleb has done, his parent's are letting us stay here rent free. What a blessing! This allows us to save up more quickly for field set-up costs, etc.
But the Lord didn't stop there. Not only did He give us a place to live, He furnished it as well. Whatever furniture, kitchen supplies, even decorations we didn't have the Lord provided through family, friends and our church. Amazing!
There are pictures are on the PHOTOS page of our site if you'd like to see our place. But better yet, let us know if you have time and we'll have you over!
