Still awaiting the FINAL word from leadership, but it looks like the Indonesian field wants to pursue the Bell Jet Ranger instead of the R44 Helicopter. This is the better long-term option for the flight program, so we are thrilled. Yet this decision brings a lot of changes and expenses for us. First, Bryan is required by the Indonesian FAA to have 6 months hands-on experience on the Jet Ranger before taking tests. The only place to do that is on an Indonesian island approximately 2,000 miles east. Very exciting opportunity but an extra move. Second, Bryan must have the factory training course for both the Jet Ranger Helicopter and the Engine. These two courses are only offered in the U.S. Therefore, Bryan must make a trip back to the US sometime in 2009. Again, great opportunities, but a huge cost with the flight home and the training courses (around $7500 just for the courses). Continue to pray for all the logistics involved in this decision and for wisdom for all involved. Likewise, be praying for provision for all the finances. The Lord has opened this door, so we know He will provide. It is fully in His hands! |
