ENCOURAGEMENT GOES A LONG WAY

Even women and children had made the long hike to bring encouragement.

December 3, 2008

by David Bell

A group of Manobo believers in the Philippines recently made a long hike to encourage believers in another village.

Though the believers who made the trip say it was worthwhile, they were also disappointed. They were prepared to teach for three days and their main goal was to get the believers to refocus on spiritual things.

They found out how difficult that would be when outside interests and other issues seemed to be the focus in the village and attendance at the meetings was very low.

Some of the women in the village were pleased, even to tears, to see women and children had also made the long hike, crossing flooded rivers to bring encouragement.

Please pray that the believers who need to focus on spiritual things will get their priorities straight. Some of their Bible teachers plan to attend a teacher seminar in January with the believers from the sending village.
