Hi I am Bailey, one of the nuts in the fudge. I grew up in Santa Maria, California with two sisters, Dale and Jessie, and amazing parents, Kevin and Jenny. Growing up I was always surrounded by solid, Biblical teaching through my parents, my pastor (who is now my father-in-law :) and numerous others who went out of their way to show me Christ's love. Through these things I came to a saving knowledge of Christ at a young age. Sadly, my relationship with Christ stayed put while I did my own thing. When I got into high school I began to see this void in my life and slowly began to grow. My senior year in high school, God really began to work on my heart in the way of missions. I just couldn't believe that there were so many people out there who had never even had the chance to hear the Gospel - to accept it or reject it. What a privilege it would be for me to be able to go and share with tribes all over the world that there is hope for them!
My family
With this passion at the forefront of my heart, I graduated from high school and moved to South Carolina to go to Columbia International University where I majored in Intercultural Studies and in Bible. The knowledge I gained there was invaluable as well as the friendships I made. I spent two years there to get my Bible certificate and then moved back to California to GET MARRIED and spend a year with my new husband before moving on to New Tribes Mission. We were married in July, 2005 and enjoyed an incredible year living by the beach and spending time with family and friends. We then went to MIssouri for a year of missionary training and what an amazing year it was! We learned so much about life overseas, and our personal relationship with God, that we wouldn't trade it for anything.
Now, as we prepare for our departure to the Philippines we look to the Lord everyday to provide for us and everyday He does...abundantly! What an awesome God we serve! We look forward to the rest of our lives living in total dependence on such a reliable God.
Hi, I'm Brian the middle of three brothers. I was born in the Philippines and lived there until I was seven. My parents were missionaries with New Tribes and served in the Batak tribe. It was there that I was first introduced to missionary aviation. I can still remember the days when I knew the airplane was coming to our tribe; I would stay outside as much as possible so that I could hear the drone of the engine. I looked forward to seeing our pilot and the airplane more than anything.
When we left the Philippines I had a dream that one day I too could be a missionary pilot. As time went on that dream was pushed aside, and instead I went my own way and looked for a career that would make the most money, and have the most adventure...but mostly I wanted money.
My family at our wedding
In high school I had several opportunities to travel to Mexico and serve on short term missions teams in the Tijuana area. It was there that the Lord grabbed hold of my heart with a very simple question, "Why not?" I loved serving people, and I loved going to Mexico more than anything, so why not spend my life doing that. My next response was, "Here am I, Lord." As I searched for what the Lord would have me do, I pursued children's ministry, pastoral ministry, youth ministry, missions, and counseling. Finally I met a missionary pilot who told me about the ministry of a pilot. As he explained the role a pilot has, I was reminded of my childhood dreams, and saw clearly that the passions for people and encouraging that the Lord had put in my heart could be pursued in the context of missionary aviation...and I could fly into gnarly airstrips too!
I hopped on an airplane and flew to Chicago with $50 to my name. I went to Moody Aviation for five years, worked as a flight instructor and mechanic for 3 years, married my best friend, and started training with New Tribes Mission in Missouri, and completed it in Arizona in May of 2008. God has proven Himself faithful to me over and over again, and though it hasn't always been easy, it has been full of excitement, adventure and now romance! All the makings of a wonderful story as only God could write.
My passion for the lost and for other believers has grown over the years of training and I am thrilled to now be serving the Lord full-time as a missionary pilot.
