Guanano believers in Brazil shared testimonies with each other and missionaries this week.
Mario spoke about the difference between Guanano stories and God's Word. "We have our own stories about where we came from. So when I started listening to God's version of how it all started with Adam and Eve, I didn't believe it. I thought they were just white man's stories.
"But the more I listened to the whole story, I became convinced it was true. There is one big difference between our stories and God's story. Our stories never gave us any hope. Life ended at the grave and there was only wailing and despair. God's stories take us beyond the grave where there is great good to look forward to, and seeing our loved ones once again. God's story gave us hope."
When Kristina was witnessing to her older sister, the elder said, "The priest is the one who has power with God. We have to do everything he says, or we will face terrible punishment."
Kristina said, "No. God isn't like that. We need to trust in Jesus, who came to die for our sins. That's what I did, and now I live by means of His life. I talk to Him and He talks to me. I tell Him all of my needs and He cares for me. He's my very best friend."
Praise God for these testimonies, and pray that the Guanano believers continue to flourish.
