Dag-ay, a Higaunon co-worker with missionaries Lance and Laura Ostman in the Philippines, told the story of how God chose to answer one of her prayers. Dag-ay has four children who live nearby and all of them are believers.
Since she first heard the Gospel and trusted Christ, she has been praying that her siblings and other relatives in distant villages would hear the Gospel message and be saved.
The Higaunon church recently finished a week long seminar hosted by Dag-ay's village. Many people came from other villages to listen to the teaching and to give reports of what God is doing through their ministries in the distant villages where they live.
Among the many visitors attending the seminar were Langan and Iyi, who brought a number of believers from their village. When Dag-ay saw a teen-aged girl in the group, she was delighted to discover that it was her niece. She found that her sister and her sister's husband have been listening to evangelistic Bible lessons and will soon hear the message of Christ's death on the cross. Her brother-in-law is a shaman in their village.
Dag-ay told her niece, "You tell your parents that they need to continue listening to the teaching. Tell them not to pay any attention to those who are trying to keep them from listening."
Dag-ay is excited to know that God is answering her prayers. Praise God that Dag-ay's faith is being strengthened as she sees God's work in her siblings' lives. Pray that her extended family will also have an opportunity to hear evangelistic Bible lessons.
