Missionaries Barry and Candy Wingo just returned from visiting two tribes in Mexico -- the Tarahumaras and Guarijios -- where they helped missionary teams with Bible translation and literacy materials.
While visiting Ted and Sharon Wingo and Tim and Janet Roberts among the Tarahumara people, Candy worked with Sharon and Janet to make revisions and additions to their literacy course.
The Wingos then flew into a Guarijio village for a first-time visit with Terry and Renee Reed and Dennis and Machelle Bender.
Sharon Wingo accompanied Barry and Candy to help with literacy consultation since the Guarijio and Tarahumara languages are somewhat similar. Sharon and Candy worked with Dennis Bender to get him started with his first teaching primer. Dennis was well prepared for the visit and a lot was accomplished.
Meanwhile, Barry and Terry worked with a young Guarijio man, Vicente, to check the translation of portions of Genesis and Exodus.
The first week of August, Barry and Candy will begin setting up their newly constructed house and continue their ministry among the Tepehuan people.
Pray for Barry and Candy as they get settled in their new home and continue to build relationships with the Tepehuan people.
Pray too that the Tarahumara and Guarijio ministries will make good progress with Bible translation and literacy materials.
