The work among the Guarijio people in Mexico hasn't been easy, but as missionary Terry Reed joyfully watched the recent baptism of five believers in front of 60 unbelievers, "memories of difficult times … were suddenly washed aside."
"Throughout the entire service I kept fighting back the tears, thanking God for this fruit after five-and-a-half years of seemingly fruitless ministry," Terry shared.
Antonio, one of those baptized, told Terry, "Thank you for coming to teach us. That is why we are here today."
The missionary team working among the Guarijios -- Terry and Renee Reed, Dennis and Michelle Bender and Tom and Amy Ragan -- desire to see God's Spirit touch more Guarijio lives.
They feel blessed to have two Guarijios -- Martimiano and Enedina -- working with them to translate the Scriptures and lesson materials.
Martimiano has been known to think upon a scripture passage all night as he works with Terry. The 60-year-old man has become a committed co-worker.
Enedina, who has attended the New Tribes Bible Institute in Mexico, has also been a valuable addition to the translation team.
Please pray for the missionary team as they continue to learn the Guarijio culture and language, build relationships, translate the Bible and teach. And pray that more of the Guarijio people will understand the Gospel and place their faith in Christ.
