Sept. 4-7, believers from the Mayoruna, Pacaas Novas and other tribes will host and enjoy Conplei, a conference intended to encourage them to reach out to their neighboring people groups back home.

Conplei is a conference held every two years, but even though it's a regular thing, this is still a large undertaking. There will be more than 2,000 attendees: pastors, leaders and other believers.

Please pray for the safety of all who travel to the event. Pray also for the Brazilian believers to have their hearts open to wherever the Holy Spirit may lead them.

Missionary Manfred Kern arrived back in Brazil just in time for the conference. "Please keep praying for the Pacaas Novos churches, especially for the leadership," wrote Manfred.

Several leaders from various churches will meet together to discuss questions concerning church leadership and qualifications for elders. Please pray that the Lord will give them wisdom and understanding as they deal with these difficult issues. Pray too that they will extend grace to one another in their differing opinions.

A bi-annual Bible conference will be held in the near future for church leaders from many tribal groups. The Pacaas Novos have chartered a large boat to transport themselves as well as some neighboring tribes to the conference site. Missionaries working among the Pacaas Novos will attend also so that they can help the people understand the teaching clearly since the conference will be in the Portuguese language.

Pray for safety in travel and also that the conference will be beneficial.
