Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. What a blessing it is to know that we can count on the prayers of God's people as we are involved in "expanding the reach of the gospel." As we served in West Africa as missionaries, we saw our village neighbors constantly making an effort to appease their ancestors. One way the people tried to please their ancestors was through dances like the one pictured. As we have part in training missionaries we attempt to convey to the students the complexity of planting a church in a tribal context. The students seem to appreciate having teachers who can share experience from the mission field.
This photo shows our village neighbors during the sad task of building another coffin. I took this photo about 20 years ago and I am certain that some of the men in this photo have perished since I took it. We had to leave our place of ministry due to civil war so we know that souls have slipped into eternity since we lived in the village. As we help train missionaries to go out we desire to communicate the urgency of the task that awaits them. We have seen many precious souls pass into eternity without the hope of the gospel during our time on the field. Please pray for the students who are studying here to learn all that they can as they desire to take the good news to a lost and dying world. |
