MEETING THE NEED

Dir was carried to the Moffits` truck by friends.

July 19, 2007

by Jackie Fallis

Missionaries Josh and Belinda Moffit help meet physical as well as spiritual needs among the Tala Andig people of the Philippines.

An injured woman named Dir lives in a Tala Andig village near the Moffits. Bible teachers started travelling there three months ago.

Dir used to work for a large asparagus plantation. Five years ago a truck taking workers home went over a cliff. Dir fell out and hit her head. She was sent home from the hospital before her injuries were properly treated due to lack of funds.

Two weeks ago the Moffits took Dir to the city to see a specialist. Since the accident she's been sitting in her house, unable to get up.

The news from the specialist is uplifting -- through therapy Dir may be able to regain some strength.

Please pray that Dir works hard and does not become discouraged through therapy sessions. Pray also that God strengthens her through this. Also pray for the Bible teachers and the people of Dir's village, that God's Word will be clearly conveyed.
