This is our story: We are two mid-westerners who are just ordinary people. We were high school sweethearts who like to have fun, talk, read books, drink coffee, hang out with friends, be outdoors and we love to travel! Ben has really grown to love teaching the bible. Lately he has been teaching Sunday school for high school students. Bethany enjoys being hospitable by having friends over so that she can cook for them delicious foods. Her latest adventure is making Thai food! (Ben really enjoys the benefits of her hospitality.) We are setting out on a journey that our creator has designed us for: Sharing the good news of salvation. God has been teaching us to walk in dependence on Him along the way by using a variety of environments: married life, Bible school, full-time jobs, medical problems, camp counselors, and now missionary training and more. Our missionary training has been enjoyable and challenging. We have been acquiring the tools necessary for tribal church planting and learning how to use them. Cross-cultural church planting is an enormous task and we cannot do it. Why would we set out to do something that is impossible for us to do? Simply because it is not us, but Christ who will be working through us! The twins!! They came on February 22 at around 10:30 am. Mercedes Rachel Koorsen: Weight was 5lb 15oz, Time of birth was 10:31am, Length was 19 1/2 inches. Ava Marjorie Koorsen: Weight was 6lb even, Time of birth was 10:32 am, Length was 19 1/2 inches. They are a joy to our lives as we know that God has given them to us to raise to know him. This is our new stewardship and we look forward to leading them to have a fear of the Lord with a growing love and passion for Him. Proverbs 2:1-5 My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, Pro 2:2 making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; Pro 2:3 yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, Pro 2:4 if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, Pro 2:5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. |
