With the responsibilities of homeschooling her child, being a mother, wife and main cook, Lori Luse is also preparing to finish her language evaluations in the Patpatar tribe in Papua New Guinea.
Lori amazed those facilitating her evaluation. She was evaluated at level 8 on a level 9 scale to officially complete culture and language study.
"It was evident when we were out in the village that she was able to easily communicate with people on very personal levels," Aaron Weatherl said. "She never switched to [Melanesian Pidgin] (the trade language) and was able to maintain her composure even in some different circumstances."
Lori is now able to turn her focus on developing the literacy program for the Patpatar people. Her work consists of translating small books for them to learn to read.
"I am amazed at the progress she has made with all of her other responsibilities," Aaron Luse, Lori's husband, wrote. "I am so privileged to be married to such a 'capable woman' and have three little girls that are following in her steps."
Please pray that Lori continues to be an asset to the village and that she has the language skills necessary for formal teaching and Bible translation in six months when she is evaluated again.
