Daily Scripture

"Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness."

Psalm 37:3

'HE WON'T JUDGE ME!'

The former rain-maker now knows who really controls the weather.

May 8, 2008

by David Bell

Testimonies continue to flow from the Bagwido people in one village of Papua New Guinea who heard the final evangelistic Bible lesson one month ago.

The former rain-maker for the village, Metyu, now knows who really controls the weather. He once believed his own work of sorcery could make it rain or stop the rain. But Metyu has now come to believe in Christ.

He said, "Great Creator Being, He sent the Redeemer, and He took my sin on Him. … There is only one road. That is my Redeemer and He has saved me. He is the road, the ladder, and the door to the Great Creator Being. He and only He! Where else now do I get true talk? Only God's Word."

Missionary Mark Woodard asked him, "But Metyu, if you die while you are still sinning where will you go?"

Metyu replied, "Did you not hear what I just told you? He took all my sin."

Alexsya, a young, quiet widow, now walks around with a beaming smile on her face and a testimony in her heart. "Jesus' blood bought my sin. He bought all of it. We have heard the first part of the teaching, but I know that there is more of this sweet talk in the Bible. I want to hear more."

Getrud, a young mother with two daughters, said, "Jesus was the true Lamb of God. He is the one that paid for my sin. All of the sin that I have done, that I do, and that I will do, Jesus' blood took away my sin and I am His child. I want to know more about my Redeemer."

Hermina, who has been a religious leader among the women, said, "I am a hearer and follower and believer in the Coming-Getting-Back-One (Redeemer). I believe that His blood was spilled when they killed Him on the cross and that is what paid for our sin debt. I know that is true talk."

Holly Woodard asked her, "So, Hermina, if you died today and stood before God, how would he judge you?"

Hermina cut Holly off with her reply. "He won't judge me! What do you mean, how will He judge me? I believe in the Redeemer and because of Him I will go to Heaven to be with God. I am God's kid. He died for my sin and bought me back!"

Please pray for the Bagwido people as they hear more of God's Word and learn to walk with Him.
