Thank you so much for praying for John Van Wormer – he has been released!
In a hearing yesterday afternoon, bail for John was set at 15,000 pesos (roughly $1,400). Bail was posted and John was released late last night. However, the case has yet to be resolved, so please don’t stop praying.
Also, I don’t know if you remember, but a couple updates ago we were praying for New Orleans as Hurricane Gustav went through there. And looking back to that, it’s exciting to see how God answered our prayers! Gustav did not hit New Orleans near as hard as it could have, lives were saved by the coordinated efforts of city and county officials, and the levies held.
So in the same way, now let’s pray for the Houston, Texas area. The situation according to breaking news reports is very dire. People in coastal areas are being warned to “get out now” or face certain death. Hurricane Ike, like Hurricane Gustav, is huge and is packing winds of more than 100 mph. Again, let’s pray that lives are saved and that many turn to acknowledge God’s grace during this time of crisis. Thank you so much -- and may God bless you wherever you are today! :) Andy Corley missionary internet programmer www.ntm.org/andy_corley |
