Mexican authorities have charged missionary pilot John Van Wormer with flying without a flight plan, and his case is yet to be resolved.
John, a member of New Tribes Mission who was flying for UIM International-Aviation, was detained earlier this week after he landed on a remote mountain airstrip in northern Mexico. He is still in custody and is doing well. The UIM airplane John was flying is also being held by the Mexican authorities.
The hearing at which John was charged concluded in the early hours of the morning yesterday. Please pray that UIM and NTM, working with an experienced Mexican attorney, can effectively demonstrate that John did not need a flight plan and should be released.
