GREATER IMPACT

July 21, 2008

by Andy Corley

Isn't it fun when you see one small thing that you've done make a big difference in someone else's life? Maybe it was just stopping to say a genuine "hello" that led to a deeper conversation. Maybe it was simply remembering somebody's name that showed them that you cared. Well for me it's fun to see the impact that my prayers can have on missions work around the world.

Do you receive NTM's "Daily Bulletin" or "Weekly Digest" of prayer requests? These prayer needs are updated daily, directly from tribal locations in more than 20 countries around the world. And how is that possible? Technology. :-)

Because of internet and e-mail technologies, fresh prayer requests are delivered each and every day via e-mail to more than 14,000 prayer partners. And you should see the impact!

Here's a prayer request from April 9th:
"Mexico: Tarahumara tribe: An accident opened the door for Toribio to see Christ's love in action. Now he has the opportunity to trust Jesus. Pray that he makes that choice."
... and the answer to that prayer request, on April 23rd:
"Mexico: Tarahumara tribe: After hearing Tim Roberts and Nacho, a Tarahumara believer, explain God's Word on Monday, Toribio placed his faith in Christ. Thank God with us."

Here's another request, this one from June 4th:
"Papua New Guinea: Siawi tribe: Several Siawi believers want to follow the Lord in baptism this Sunday. 'For many of them it will be the first time that they have given public testimony of their faith,' wrote missionary Tom Brendle. Praise the Lord for this step of faith, and pray that the believers will continue to share their faith with others."
... and the answer to that prayer request, on June 11th:
"Papua New Guinea: Siawi tribe: Fifty-nine Siawi believers followed the Lord in baptism Sunday. Please pray for their growth in Christ and for God's Spirit to bring unity to the Siawi church."

What a privilege it is to pray for these requests and see how God answers. Because God's desire is for all to be saved ... and truly, He is worthy of their praise!
