Accountability is critical to success whether you're a business leader, a stay-at-home mom, or a missionary translating the Bible into tribal languages. And that's why it's exciting to see so many of NTM's brightest and best language consultants meeting here in Sanford to learn from each other how to most accurately translate the Scriptures into tribal languages.
Missionary Albert Castelijn (pronounced /Cast-ill-en/), who ministers with New Tribes in the Philippines, is one of these conference attendees. He reports, "It's very inspiring ... being with about 40 other translators and translation consultants who are so sold out to seeing God's Word made available for the tribes. We're being taught all about checking translations, and it's another level up from translating."
Two men from the Ayore tribe in Bolivia have also traveled here to attend the conference. Their specific role is to help missionaries go through the Ayore translation of the book of Romans as an in-depth exercise for the whole group. And it's this kind of hands-on training that will enable our missionaries to go back out into their specific ministries and translate large portions of the Bible for tribal people who up to now have had no access to God's Word.
As we host this group of missionaries here in Sanford, please pray with us for their time together -- that every moment would be truly effective in optimizing the task of reaching the remotest parts of the world with the Gospel.
