Happy Easter! ... and thank you for your prayers for our daughter Alexandria. We have some news to share and continue to value your prayers.
First of all, Alex has been doing better, and her day-time seizures have been very merciful -- meaning that she has been able to cry out or warn us just before each seizure. And she has been totally seizure-free while riding her bike, running outside, and climbing on playground equipment.
Just the other day in the kitchen Alex was even able to sit herself down before she went into a seizure, which protected her from collapsing full-force on the hard ceramic-tile floor. What a blessing that God has been protecting her from injuries.
Alex’s recent visit with her neurologist resulted in the doctor scheduling an EEG test. This procedure will measure Alex’s brainwave activity over a period of time while she is awake, while she is sleeping and while she is doing normal activities like reading or playing with toys.
The goal is to compare these results and varieties of brainwave activities with previous EEGs to look for any clear sign that she is either improving or possibly outgrowing her seizure disorder.
The test is scheduled for Monday morning, so please pray for a smooth testing process, for accuracy in the measurements, and for wisdom for the doctors who will be analyzing the results.
