This month there was a hiccup in her insurance coverage that forced us to purchase one of her $600/mo medications "out of pocket." So in researching the best way to do that, we were happy to find a way to purchase a 2-week supply of this liquid medication from Wal-Mart for only $170.
But in order to do that, we had to go a full day without this medication. And in the past, missing even half a day has resulted in Alex having up to three extra seizures on that day. But God showed us favor and she didn't have any seizures at all!
And even now, as the month is almost over, we just noticed last week that we were going to be short on Alex's other main medication (which costs about the same). So for about a week now we have reduced her intake of that medicine from three pills a day to only two pills each day.
And even with that, we have seen absolutely NO SEIZURES! :)
We don't know exactly what God is doing through this time apart from the fact that He is watching over and protect His daughter Alexandria.
Thank you so much for your prayers, and for sharing these requests with others. There are so many verses that jump to mind about "the prayers of a righteous man" ... what happens "when two or three are gathered" in Jesus' name ... how God has promised to complete the work He has begun in each of us, etc. So in light of all these passages -- and seeing what God is doing in our lives every day -- I can only say, "PRAISE GOD!"
He continues to do great things. :)
p.s. We don't have any news about Alexandria's fingers. We were told at least 3 years ago that we should be able to consider more corrective hand surgeries after she turns 10 yrs. old -- which will be Jan. 19th, 2009. Sorry that we don't know more … and thank you for praying for her hand development and future surgeries, too!
