SUMMER TRAVELS

August 26, 2008

People don't think it's unusual for missionaries to travel all over, especially in preparation for going to the field.  This has definitely happened for me this summer. 

The main trip of the summer was up to Michigan, where I spent some time with dear friends.  While there I had the opportunity to share in a Sunday School class and in another Church. A group of us also went to my Grandma's house and visited, helped fix the house up, and had a lot of fun together.  It was a wonderful time of encouraging others and being encouraged.  For pictures of this trip click here.

My family and I drove from my Grandma's over the Upper Peninsula to Wisconsin to drop my sister Beka at the New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha.  While we were there, it was so good to see friends, and teachers, that I knew, from when I was there. 

Though it was hard to leave Beka there, we are excited to see what God will be teaching her while she is there.  We left and drove back to Michigan where my parents dropped my brothers and I at my friends' house.  Then a couple days later, my brother Tim and I flew back to Florida.

We got home in time to get him ready for the first day of school.  However, that was the only day he went to that week since the schools shut down the rest of the week because of Tropical Storm Fay.

Please be praying with me as I'm praying about possibly buying a car for the year that I'm here, before I head to the field.

Here are some of the other main events from this summer:

July 3rd: Beka's Birthday, we threw a surprise birthday party for her.  If you'd like to see pictures or hear about it let me know.

July 17th to July 20th: Trip to South Carolina to visit some friends, and for Beka to get the songs she wrote and sings, recorded.  They worked for 8 hours, but she now has 20 of her songs recorded.

July 26th:  My sister Debby's baby shower.  We are so excited for baby Chloe to come, anytime now.

July 27th to Aug 17th: I was in Michigan. For pictures from this trip click here.

Aug 19th to Aug 22nd: We waited out Tropical Storm Fay.

Aug 23rd to Aug 24th: My parents and I went and visited some friends and family in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  Also, I got to go to my first pro football game, and the Dolphins won. :)
