The missionary team ministering to the Bagwido people of Papua New Guinea is teaching the last week of evangelistic Bible lessons.
After living among the Bagwidos for six years, learning the culture and language and translating Scripture into the Bagwido language, the Gospel message will be presented.
They will teach about Jesus' last days on earth and will re-enact the death burial, and resurrection of Christ.
Missionaries Brian and Andrea Holmquist and Mark and Holly Woodard are thrilled to have the incredible privilege of bringing God's truth to the Bagwidos in a remote corner of the world.
And one of the Bagwido men agreed, saying, "When you guys came, I was part of a religious group and I thought to myself, what are these guys going to tell me that I don't already know? But now that I have heard the teaching -- Wow, this is Truth! Now I have heard the truth."
Last week they taught about Jesus and His earthly ministry how: He calmed the storm, fed the multitudes and healed the sick and that He is the true Bread of Life, He is the Door and all who enter through Him will be saved.
Several Bagwido people have already given a clear testimony of their belief in the Redeemer. "He is the true first-born Lamb of God," testified one of the Bagwidos.
Another said, "God couldn't look at our sin; He looked at Jesus instead of me."
Pray that as the Gospel is presented, many will place their faith in Christ.
