"Hanging out with them [Mibu believers and missionaries] has given us a better understanding of the joys and difficulties of life in a tribe. We trust that this will help us to serve them better," wrote missionary Joseph Colyn concerning their trip to the Mibu tribe.
Joseph and Larissa minister as supply buyers for missionaries in remote areas. Joseph and their three daughters experienced their first helicopter ride as they flew into the tribal area. That was an exciting "extra." Larissa, who grew up in Papua New Guinea, had flown in a helicopter before.
They were met by a welcome committee of missionaries Joey and Brooke Tartaglia and Geoffery and Shannon Husa. The supplies were quickly unloaded from the helicopter and they all hiked down to the village.
Later when Joseph and Larissa attended a Mibu church service they were awestruck by the sincerity and excitement of the believers. As they listened to the praise songs written by the Mibus they were reminded of the privilege of being a part of a church planting team.
Because of a shortage of staff at the support center the Colyns had an extremely busy summer. But when they returned from their trip to the Mibu village they were refreshed and ready to serve with renewed fervor.
Pray for the Colyn family as they provide a lifeline for the missionaries in remote areas through buying needed supplies. Pray also for the missionaries ministering to tribal groups in difficult areas.
