Sesi, a Mibu believer who is one of missionary Chris Walker's translation co-workers, recently returned from a trip to a coastal town where he was able to share the effect God's Word has had upon his life.
When Sesi's newborn daughter was ill and needed medical attention, he and his wife decided to take her to a small government clinic 12 miles away, a 16-hour hike.
Upon his return, Sesi told Chris about his two-week adventure. While he was gone several individuals asked him about the impact God's Word was having among the Mibu people.
Usually when a Mibu person leaves his village to go to the "city," they try to draw little attention to themselves so they won't be embarrassed with merciless ridicule by the more affluent and "civilized" coastal people. But Sesi boldly answered their question.
"This message is not like anything that has come before," he said. "When you hear this message for yourself, your thinking will completely flip over as mine has. Before we have heard bits and pieces of God's Word, however now we clearly see what God's message has been for us and our stomachs [hearts] are overjoyed."
"We are encouraged," wrote Chris and Angie Walker, "by the baby steps of faith these new believers are taking. Please pray for their continued growth and understanding."
