Outreach to a neighboring Mibu village has been exciting for missionary Geoff Husa and the Mibu Bible teachers.
After last week's lessons about Adam and Eve's disobedience and the consequences, Geoff wrote in his journal:
"God's Word shot down right to the heart of what these people falsely feel secure in, and removed it as a possibility of hope. … God's Spirit moved very powerfully here today and is very clearly moving these people's hearts."
Another of Geoff's journal entries during the week read: "It's so cool sitting with the teachers tonight in Gero's house. They're talking with sheer excitement about what they saw today of the power of God's Spirit through His Word. They're so encouraged about the power of God's talk and what they just saw it do with many of their friends and family.
"I can honestly say I've never in my life seen so much excitement in men about the Holy Spirit's power in their lives."
The young Mibu believers have been learning and growing in their understanding of the Holy Spirit's work in their lives and have been questioning some of their cultural practices.
"As their understanding grows, the Holy Spirit will make it clear to them what they need to do," wrote missionaries Chris and Angie Walker. "The direction will come as we continue to teach."
Pray that God's Word will continue working in hearts to bring growth to the young believers and new life to those who are hearing the salvation message for the first time.
