Praying without bowing one's head and closing one's eyes is a new concept to the new Mibu believers.
A few days after teaching about prayer, missionary Joey Tartaglia and Tima were walking along a trail when Joey suggested that the two men talk to God.
Tima began looking for a place to stop and sit so the men could pray, but he was astonished when Joey told him they could talk to God as they hiked. It was a good opportunity to introduce a new concept to Tima.
Culturally, the Mibus pray to manipulate the spirits.
Tima is learning that there is no formula to follow and no set position for praying. It is just a matter of developing a personal relationship with God.
Pray that the 200 Mibus who recently put their faith in Christ will develop that relationship and not be sidetracked by discouragement or false teaching that can rapidly spread.
