The Wogeo people of Papua New Guinea expressed their desire to have missionaries come and begin a ministry among them. Brandon Buser and several other missionaries recently returned from their second visit to the islands where the Wogeos live and were delighted when the people warmly welcomed them.
The missionaries had carefully researched the available information on the Wogeo people and after visiting the islands in April decided that a church planting ministry was needed there.
Next month the missionaries will return for a visit with their wives and children. "The kids and I are getting pretty excited these days," wrote Brandon's wife Rachel. "Briana is constantly talking about 'the island.' This next trip will be, for the kids and I, the first chance to see the island, but it's hard not to start thinking of this place as our new home."
There is no airstrip on the island so the transport of their goods and supplies will be by boat and helicopter. The team is looking for a larger boat that will meet the needs of transporting families and household goods on the long ocean voyage to the island.
"Please pray that the Lord would lead us to an economical but safe vessel that we could use for transporting our families," wrote Brandon. "Please pray too that the Lord would provide financially for these upcoming costs during these next several months."
Pray also for safety as the missionaries make the third voyage to visit the Wogeo people next month. Pray that all the details of moving to the island and beginning a church planting ministry will go smoothly.
